Madrid, epicenter of the phenomenon that everyone will want to star in: the major period superproduction by Manuel de la Vega that promises to revolutionize the Spanish film landscape. Designer and creator Manuel de la Vega makes a strong entry into the film industry with the launch of his production company 1555 Films Productions, an ambitious venture that is already attracting the interest of platforms, distributors, and industry professionals both inside and outside Spain.
The name of the production company, 1555, is not accidental: it represents the Arabic numeral equivalent of MDLV (Manuel de la Vega in Roman numerals), a personal nod that symbolizes identity, vision, and a new creative signature destined to leave a mark.
A period story set to set trends
Its first major project, the series “La Familia de la Vega,” is set in 18th-century Seville, a setting of elegance, power, passion, and social tension that will shape a visually striking and emotionally intense narrative.
It is discreetly rumored that a new production set in 18th-century Spain has begun searching for faces capable of inhabiting its salons and secrets, in order to film the pilot of what will become a major platform-focused project.
Official casting
Casting will begin on May 2, 2026 in Madrid. The professional, paid production will hold in-person casting sessions in Madrid. The exact location of the meeting will be revealed in the next announcement via @1555filmsproduction, @lafamiliadelavega.oficial, and @susanvilla_model (official project communication). It is advisable to stay tuned.
A casting generating unprecedented anticipation
The production company has opened a national and international casting that is already generating strong movement within the acting industry. Diverse profiles are sought, with a commitment to inclusion and representation of multiple ethnic backgrounds (African descent, Asian, Arab, Latin, among others), all with perfect command of Spanish. It is said that all bilingual Spanish-speaking ethnicities are welcome. In addition, and as a key distinguishing element, actors and actresses with training in acting or flamenco dance will be especially valued. The required profiles range between 25 and 65 years old, including leading roles, supporting roles, special extras, and court and aristocratic characters.
