Because there are artists who paint canvases… and there are souls who paint life. Yilian, without a doubt, does both...
In life, there are people who don’t just arrive—they stay. Presences that transform. Different people. Extraordinary people. Today, I have the honor—and the deep emotion—of speaking about one of them, my dear friend, Yilian Peña. Someone who knows how to transform every space she touches through her art and sensitivity.
Yilian Peña
She is much more than a visual artist. She is sensitivity transformed into color, intuition turned into brushstroke, authenticity without compromise. Born in Las Tunas, Cuba, on December 18, 1992, she has been living in Tenerife, Spain, since 2014. Her work is characterized by a deep connection with the sensitivity of the present moment, through which she seeks to convey her feelings and emotions in an authentic and personal way.
La Eva de Adan
Yilian finds inspiration in the beauty of everyday life and in the transformative power of mutual support and self-belief. She firmly believes in the power of believing in oneself, even when no one else does. Her message is clear and powerful: the desire to live resides within each of us, and we all have the power to create our own reality.
Paraíso compartido
On this occasion, dear and kind readers, it is my pleasure to present her art exhibition “My Way,” a showcase that not only reveals her talent, but also her philosophy of life: to create from inner truth, from pure emotion, from the conviction that every human being has a unique and irreplaceable voice.
Yilian and I.
Three years ago, in Lanzarote, we were having coffee in one of our favorite places when, suddenly, a photographer from the island passed by. He asked if he could take a picture of us. It is a beautiful memory.
Alma nocturna
Yilian, my friend since 2019, has been a constant source of inspiration. But beyond the affection that unites us, I must state with absolute objectivity that she possesses genuine talent and a creative mind, and it has been a privilege for me to know her.
Un viaje psicodélico
Her exhibition “Mi Camino” reflects this philosophy, inviting the audience to contemplate life from a different perspective and to discover beauty in the simplest details. Through her paintings, Yilian shows us that life is beautiful if we learn to appreciate it with a fresh gaze and a different outlook.
Verde psicodélico
Her work does not seek to please passing trends, but to connect. Her paintings engage in dialogue with the viewer, inviting introspection, self-discovery, and the understanding that beauty lies in authenticity. “My Way” is not just an exhibition; it is a declaration of identity, a silent manifesto on the freedom to be.
Calidoscopio emocional
Celebrating this exhibition is celebrating her art. But it is also celebrating the courage to live—and to create—with authenticity. Because there are artists who paint canvases… and there are souls who paint life. Yilian, without a doubt, does both.
