The renowned journalist was honored for her career in a ceremony that brought together Rafael Amargo, Carlos Latre, Diego Losada and representatives from more than twenty countries under the motto “the humanity behind success.”
The Hotel Ilunion Pío XII became, on April 17, the epicenter of multicultural European recognition, and on that stage one figure emerged with a light of her own: María Casado. The acclaimed Spanish journalist not only received an award, but also rose as the visible soul of the Europa Multicultural Awards 2026, in an evening where diversity, talent, and social commitment wove together a narrative as global as it was deeply human.
During the ceremony, María Casado was recognized for her outstanding professional career and her contribution to the field of communication, consolidating herself as a benchmark of journalism in Spain. Her presence at the gala brought special value to an edition marked by diversity, talent, and social commitment. There was not a single moment during the evening that did not carry her signature: from the instant she received the award to the moment her name echoed among the attendees, Casado embodied the informative solidity and human warmth that define great communicators.
The event, which brought together personalities from the cultural, media, academic, and business worlds, began with remarks from the director and founder of the awards, Killa Tedesqui, alongside presenter Luis Aznal, who emphasized the importance of recognizing “the humanity behind success,” the motto that defines the spirit of these awards. A principle that, according to the hosts themselves, beats especially strongly in every award recipient.
Throughout the evening, attendees enjoyed top-level artistic performances by singer Mapy B, soprano Vanessa Cera, the duo Seconfret, and ventriloquist Faviola Galindo, all of whom helped create a unique atmosphere. Music, voice, and stagecraft came together to accompany each award presentation.
This edition of the Europa Multicultural Awards brought together honorees from countries such as France, Portugal, Slovakia, Romania, Turkey, Guatemala, Dominican Republic, Venezuela, and Bolivia, with a strong representation from Andalusia, reaffirming the international nature of the event. Eleven different origins reflected the borderless vocation of awards that no longer recognize closed maps.
Among the award recipients were also notable figures such as dancer Rafael Amargo, comedian Carlos Latre — who sent a video message — journalist Diego Losada, Director of the Autism Chair at the University of Málaga Francisco Guerrero, and writer Fernando Alonso Barahona, among others. Each of them contributed their discipline and story, demonstrating that excellence knows neither genres nor borders.
The gala also sought to highlight the work of AMUDI, an organization committed to inclusion and talent. A dedicated space to remind everyone that success only has meaning when it is shared and placed at the service of others. The proceeds from the gala will go entirely to them in order to help people with neurological disabilities.
With this edition, the Europa Multicultural Awards consolidate their position as a European benchmark in recognizing professional careers that contribute to a more inclusive society, valuing not only success itself, but also the humanity that drives it.
